Writers, here is a new submission opportunity!
Send your unpublished prose: creative nonfiction (CFN) stories, personal essays, and flash fiction to be considered for Saint Paul Almanac’s Fall 2023 digital magazine. The CNF and Flash Fiction do not have to be about Saint Paul.

Flash Fiction
Up to 1,000 words; Please paginate your document and add “Flash Fiction” and word count under the title.
Creative Non-Fiction
Up to 1,000 words, please paginate your document and add “CNF” and word count under the title.
Additional Details
- Submissions must be sent through Submittable. See link below.
- At the top of your submission, please indicate which genre you are entering (flash fiction or CNF).
- You may enter in only one (1) genre.
- In your cover letter, include your contact information (name, address, phone number, email) and a brief bio.
- Your name should not appear in the manuscript or on the file name.
- Work must be previously unpublished.
All the submissions that were sent in for the Courage Contest will automatically be entered into consideration. Please note: We already have plenty of poetry submissions.
For this publication, all submissions will undergo an editorial review process by the apprentices of the Saint Paul Almanac’s 2023 Spring Community Editors Apprenticeship Project. Selected work will appear in our digital magazine scheduled for October 2023 publication.
At this time, this is the next literary project of Saint Paul Almanac.
