We represent our communities whose writing need to be seen.

Through the Community Editor Apprenticeship, we learn the professional editing skills necessary to deliver fresh and different literary visions of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry.

We are champions for writers of diverse communities.
We are empowered and ready to advocate for writing we believe in.
We are graduates of Saint Paul Almanac’s Community Editor Apprenticeship.

We have our “sheepskin” in hand as evidence that we have done the hard work and learned the professional skills needed to compete in the highly challenging world of publishing.

We come from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, ages, genders, gender identities, and levels of editing and writing experiences. It’s imperative to acknowledge the history of BIPOC, LGBTQIA, and differently abled communities throughout our conversations about individual pieces. In doing so, we publish stories representative of diverse people and places, choosing those that are the most engaging, provocative, and heartfelt. We provide a rare opportunity to see the world with new perspectives.

Saint Paul Almanac congratulates each as they step forward to present stories that empower us all!
