Original Dutch

Thuis
O, warme westenwind
til mij zachtjes op.
Breng me naar huis
alwaar tulpen in lage landen
geduldig wachten
op mijn terugkeer.

Hun bloemblaadjes
geopend als armen,
geven mij
een warm welkom.
Onze harten kloppen
in heldere lentekleuren,
onze woorden bloeien teder
in de moedertaal.

English Translation

Oh warm westerly wind,
lift me up, gently.
Carry me home
to where tulips
in low lands
patiently wait
for my return.

Their petals,
opened like arms,
warmly welcoming me.
Our hearts beat
in bright spring colors,
our words bloom
tenderly
in the mother tongue.
