Heidi Romanish began her poetry writing when she was a English Language and Literature teacher in Costa Rica in 2000 – 2014. As Heidi studied various poetry forms with her students, she began writing with them and founded the Blue Valley School Poetry Slam in 2003. When she left Costa Rica in 2014, she self-published a booklet of her poetry, including photographs by Monica Quesada.
Heidi has never stopped writing poetry and most recently has participated in classes with the Reentry Lab and poet Davi Gray, and the monthly Open Mic at Better Things. Heidi recited her first poem in Spanish at the Global Poetry Celebration in 2023 and is honored to continue her participation.
