A Little Brown Bird
Just landed on my windowsill.
Thought about coming in.
Bent her head, looked around. Looked
at my string of paper butterflies,
looked at me, then out
at the tree, flew to a branch.
Made the branch dance.
The leaves went crazy.
My heart did too.
A little brown bird.
Did all that.
